Valleys Of Cappadocia

Cappadocia which means the ‘Land of the beautiful horses’. It is one of the most scenic places in the world mainly known for its surreal rock formations.

History:

Volcanic eruptions followed by years of wind and water erosion for millions of years. This phenomenon has carved some of the most fascinating landscapes in this region.

Things To Do:

Hot Air Balloon:

Cappadocia without a doubt has “the best hot air balloon ride” in the world. Watching the sunrise from the top of a hot air balloon. Admire the view of several other balloons rising up and enjoy the spectacular views of the valley. This will leave an unforgettable experience in your mind forever. If you have ever wanted to ride a hot air balloon this is the place to go! The prices of hot air balloon can vary from season to season. In high season the prices can be as high as 250€  and in low season specially during Covid prices have been as low as 60€. The balloon ride usually lasts between 60min-90mins. Pickup and drop off from the hotel is included.

Balloon Watching:

Watch hundreds of hot air balloons rise up early in the morning mainly between 07:00am- 9:00am. If your located in Göreme you can watch the balloons from the top of the roof of your hotel. Alternatively you can hike up the hill above Göreme to enjoy the best views!

A new tour that has been introduced in the recent years in “Chasing The Balloons”. In this tour you ride a open top car/mini bus and it takes you to different scenic locations for balloon watching. This is a must do tour for people who love to take photos.

ATV Tour:

ATV tour is a highly recommended activity in Cappadocia. Using an ATV you can visit parts of the valley that would be only otherwise possible to visit by long hikes. ATV rides can be as low as 20€ for a 90 minute ride.

NB: ATV rides can only be done as a group tour and it is not allowed to rent an ATV in Cappadocia without a group tour.

Stay:

Göreme: Some may call it touristy and a bit expensive but frankly there is no better place to stay in Cappadocia than in Göreme. It is located in the heart of the valley and makes it so much easier to access the entire valley while staying here.

Try staying a REAL-cave hotel for atleast 2 days if your budget permits because it will give you a very unique experience like no other.  If your visiting in the winter make sure that the cave hotel you have has good heating.

NB: There are a lot of hotels who advertise themselves as cave hotels but they are not real cave hotels and their rooms are made of stones. A real cave hotels looks similar to the photo on the left.

Transport:

Buses: There are some public buses to the neighbouring towns. Other than that there is no other public transport.

Taxis: There are a fairly large number of taxis available and the prices are reasonable. They go by meter and its quite convenient option if you do not wish to rent a car and still want to have the freedom to explore some of the attractions around the area.
