Jabreen Castle, also known as Jabrin Castle, is a historic castle located in the town of Jabrin located about 10 kms away from Bahala. It is a large structure with high walls, towers, and gates, and is surrounded by a moat. It is possible to visit Nizwa, Bahala and Jabreen all in one day from Muscat but one has to start early from Muscat. I managed to visit all the three in one day. My personal favourite was Nizwa Fort followed by Bahala Fort. If you have limited time then I would recommend skipping Jabreen castle.  Bahala also has a souk. If there is time you can also consider visiting Al Hoota Cave which is situated about 22 kms from Bahala.

The most convenient way to visit Nizwa would be to take Nizwa Full Day guided tour. You can alternatively rent a car and drive yourself or to take the public mwasalat bus to Nizwa or Bahala and combine it with taxi. Remember if you visit Jabreen taxis can be hard to find so make sure you have contact number of a taxi with you. Taxi apps like Ubar and Otaxi do not work well in Bahala and Jabreen due to lack of registered taxi drivers.
